“The Conclave of Crust”
“The Conclave of Crust is inspired by Brabantian folklore and my childhood memories of walking the “Kabouterpad” while singing songs about Kabouter Spillebeen. Fairy tales, riddles, and local sages all influenced this illustration. One story spoke of a circle of toadstools, believed to be a witches’ circle. Here, ten gnomes gather around in a similar but different ancient circle. Their purpose is not a dark ritual, but something far more important: the summoning of a gigantic worstenbrood”.
